*Thanks for Your Blood! (Blood Donation Drive at Assyafaah Mosque, 8th April '06)

On this Saturday morning, Our CG members; Alex, Benjamin, Desmond, Elton, Meihui, Peifang, Yiquan and Yixuan and together with a few people from our zone reached Assyafaah Mosque early and was the first batch of donors.

For some of us like Alex, Peifang and Yixuan were their first time and we have quite a fun time scaring them. During the screening, some of us couldn't donate because of medication or some other reasons but thanks for making the effort. There is always another time!

As for the rest of us who have yet to donate blood, don't worry too much. The only time you will feel pain is that 0.1 seconds when they inject the painkiller. After that, the whole procedure is painless. Remember, everytime you donate, you can save 3 lives! No wonder the bible says that, "Life is in the blood!"

Here a candid and funny clip I took during the blood donation. 4 donors appeared in this clip, look out for the 4th donor and look at what the guy in yellow is doing to him. The last rite... Hahaha.

*MoST! Fun Day! (From Benjamin's Blog)

Today is most FUN!!! Okok. MoST stands for Museum of Shanghai Toys! Hahaha.

Today happen to be the only day I will be free for the next 3 weeks as my attachment will be starting next Monday. Went out with Alvin, Chloe and Xueting to Little India. We shop around at Mustafa a little.

Here's a few photos we took over at the Children's section.

Chloe having a little fun...

Chloe pigging around.

Pirate Chloe! Yup. No doubt she is the most playful among us.

Pirate Snow! Hahaha.

After that, we went to Bersar (dunno how to spell) food centre and had dinner. We had Turtle Soup, Stew Frog and the only thing that seems normal was the Roast Meat. It was very delicious! Thou Xueting almost freak out when we made her ate turtle meat. Hahaha.

We were on our way to the MRT when we chance upon this Museum of Shanghai Toys. Suppose to go home but we ended up spending more than an hour there! Hahaha. We took a lot of photos, had lots of laugh and was really amaze that we found such an interesting place! The toys were all from olden days China; some from as early as the Late Ming Dynasty! Wow! Hahaha.

Here's a video we took at the museum. (Pause the video and allow it to download fully for smooth viewing.)

Here's some of the photos.

An old signboard of an old toy shop in Shanghai.

Alvin. Nope, he wasn't sitting on it.

Chloe, with sword in hand!

Xueting.

Xueting. With one big doll.

That's me, trying to look 'dead' here to pose with that doll-in-coffin. Hahaha.

Xueting and Chloe, trying to pose like Mickey Mouse. Apparently... Hahaha.

Me and Alvin, trying to pose like revolutionay militant. Hahaha.

Our photo together with our admission tickets.

We are together again...

Yup. Really enjoyed ourselves. Hahaha.

Before we left, the shop owner gave each of us a BIG gift! Each of us received a tin toy that cost more than $60!!! Wow! I guess we really made a lot of noise there and enjoyed ourselves so much that the owner really loved us. Hahaha. He even autographed on the toys for us. :)

Gotta get Alvin to bring us to other places to eat. He knows a lot of "Makan" places. Hahaha.

GOD IS GOOD. :)

*Healing is Here, BIG TIME!

On 1st April 2006, as with every Saturday, it has become a habit, a holy habit for me to go to church. I thought I would probably see the usual crowd, the usual praise and worship and the only thing that is going to be different this week was the guest speaker, Reverend Richard Roberts.

Boy was I wrong! It was a healing service and there was a sense of expectancy in the atmosphere. My cell group was sitting right behind an area reserved for the Dialect Ministry which consist mainly elderly. Many of them were so old, they had to come in wheelchairs or they will need someone to hold on to them as they walk. Not surprising, many of them have age-related diseases.

As the praise starts, these elderly really stood up and praise the LORD! They clapped, they sing (I am not sure how they sing in English but they do look like they are opening their mouth to sing) and they look really excited! During worship, some of them lift up their hands through out the whole session! In fact, they look more energetic and passionate then some of the teenagers I see in church!

The next time I see some teen members praise or worship with a sloppy attitude, I am not going to hesitate to tell them, “My grandmother can do better than you!”

Anyway, seeing the way these elderly loved God really touched my heart. When I am touched, I will have this BIG wide smile plastered on my face and I will be staring intently at them. I was almost looking at them throughout the whole praise and worship. In my mind, I was thinking, “If these elderly can be so passionate at their age, then surely my grandparents could also be saved! Praise the LORD!”

The main attraction of this week’s meeting would be the guest speaker. Dr. Richard Roberts is a renowned Healing Evangelist (which means that he has the gift of healing and goes around using the gift and reaches out to the lost), President of Oral Roberts University and Oral Roberts Ministries. Everywhere he goes, the blind sees, the deaf hears and the lame walks! Cancers are healed and people are getting saved. In fact, the healing can occur even through the television programmes he host.

You may think this is one man who takes after his father, Dr. Oral Roberts, who was also a famous Healing Evangelist during his own time. Well, that assumption is correct but in his earlier days, that wasn’t so. When Dr. Richard was much younger, he aspired to be a singer and he never imagined he will become a Healing Evangelist like his father. “I sang in night clubs!” confessed Dr. Richard Roberts during Emerge Conference 2005, when he talked about his younger days.

No wonder this Man of God could sing so well! Reverend Kong Hee asked him to sing during the meeting and he willingly did so. He didn’t sing just one song, he sang a solo and got his students from ORU to sing another with him then he got them to sing another song on their own! The songs were a little jazzy and it holds quite a punch. What can I say? He can really sing!

Dr. Richard then brings out Seven Promises God made in the bible.

The First Promise is, “The land is yours to possess!” (Deut 1:8) Dr. Richard proclaimed, “And not even an inch belongs to the devil.” Indeed, God wants us to walk on our faith and be a faith participant in everything HE is doing. Faith is something that we have and it is something that we DO.

The Second Promise, “You are the head and not the tail!” (Deut 28:13). “Animal live by instinct, we live by choices,” said Dr. Richard. We have authority, we have a position. We are First Class Citizens in the Kingdom of God indeed!

For the Third Promise, Dr. Richard declared, “No weapon formed against you shall prosper!” (Is 54:17) “You may lose a battle but not the war.” Having failed doesn’t mean you are a failure. Our weapons are not carnal but mighty to pull down strongholds. Put on the full armours of God and be ready today!

“Healing is here, BIG TIME!” (Ex 15:26) is the Fourth Promise. Dr. Richard recounted an event when his daughter’s dog broke its leg. The dog was named Puppy, which was bought after their first dog pass away. Dr. Richard’s daughter, Chloe really loved Puppy a lot and it was bad enough that the first one had died. Now the second one may be put to sleep because of the broken leg.

While waiting for the X-ray to be taken, a holy anger came upon Dr. Richard and he cried out, “We want a dog with four legs, not three! Devil! Take your hands away from my dog!”

Lo and behold, the X-ray showed that the dog was alright! The vet initially said the leg was broken and the dog was not able to walk before that. Now as the nurse gave the dog back to Dr. Richard, the dog was able to walk around and even jump!

Dr. Richard put forth, “If God would heal a dog, and how much more will God wants to heal man!”

The Fifth Promise, “You are God’s property!” (1 Cor 6:19-20) Dr. Richard talked about a case where a student was almost raped. She kept repeating, I belong to God and you cannot do this to me!” to the rapist and before anything happen, the rapist got up and ran away!

The man was caught and was questioned why he didn’t commit the crime, he claimed that he felt something was wrong when the girl kept professing so he fled!

Yes! We are God’s property. Guarded jealously by God!

Dr. Richard wants us to know that the Sixth Promise is, “You have the right to the harvest of the seed you sowed!” (Mal 3:10) In the first place, the reason why the windows of heaven have to be opened is because it is closed! When we tithe, we have the rights to keep it open. When bad things happen, when trials and testing come, we have the right to REBUKE the devil. Dr. Richard defined rebuke as telling the devil to Stop it! That’s enough!”

As for the Seventh Promise, Dr. Richard assured us that, “He will never leave you or forsake you!” (Heb13:5) God is with us when we do right and also when we do wrong. He is with us whenever we make a right decision or the wrong decision. He is there when you repent and He is always ready to forgive you.

God is the same yesterday, today and forever. He has never fallen off the throne. The promises He made still stand today. That concluded the message.

Then the healing session began. Just as Dr. Richard had preached, he wanted all of us to participate in faith and lay hands on the people who were ill as he prayed on stage. The power of God moved strongly and one by one, people started getting healed!

Together with a few people, I was praying for this woman who was sitting in front of me, she had neck stiffness and couldn’t move her neck for the past five years. The lady was tearing and crying out in the spirit as we were praying for her. She was trembling and before you know it, she was slain (or she passed out, I am not sure) and Yixuan caught her with both hands. Later on, she went to testify the healing on stage and proclaimed that she was healed! Praise the LORD! She was turning her neck all around and there was no pain or stiffness!

A couple of people who were either blind on one eye or deaf in one ear were also healed! An old man went to testify of his healing to the ears by taking off his hearing aid and showed that he could hear without it!

Also, two wheelchairs were put “out-of-commission” on stage. A young lady who I identified as one of the choir member was wheelchair-bounded because of brain tumours. She testified of her healing by walking on stage! An old lady who came in by wheelchair as she could no longer walk because of kidney failure walked once again after many years!

Is God moving or what! God loves us; He brings blessings to us and heals us of our diseases. That is the God I know and that is the God I serve.

So is God your God?

GOD IS GOOD. :)
