*August is One Busy Month
One week had passed since the deliverance service with
Rev. Mike Connell. Praise God that many of us were set free that day!
It was indeed an unique experience for many of us who attended such services for the first time.
Just as our walk with God is not an one-time event at the altar call,
deliverance is a booster but not a conclusion.
Let us continue to
pray and
fast regularly to seek the face of God. For the bible says that that our walk with God is like a race where we have to keep moving higher from where we are.
Phil 3:14.
There were two events last weekend,
The 20th Festival of Praise and our church
17th Anniversary.
CCC band and
Don Moen came to minister in both events. CCC with their
youthful energy rocked the whole stadium while Don Moen played his style of
evergreen music that makes the elders felt nostalgic.
Yee Har!!!The preacher for the FOP was
Rev. Dr. Ed Silvoso, the man who start off the biblical teaching about the marketplace.
Dr. Ed started the first night with a message that boost your self-esteem. Apparently, many people were not able to catch his points during the first night. It was quite expected since this was the first time we hear him preach and we weren't able to get use to his style of preaching (and his accent).
Nonetheless, for the sake of the people who did not attend the first night and for those who didn't catch the important points, here's the summary:
***
God Has a Great Plan for You.Read the story of Gideon from Judges chapter 6 to 7.
No matter how insignificant you think you are, God has great plans for you, just as in the case of Gideon.
1. God has a better opinion of you than the opinion you have of yourself.2. When you go for the nations, God will cause the people around you (seniors, elders, leaders, peers) to have a better opinion of you.3. When you move into the enemy's camp, God will cause your enemies to have a better of you.***
So that summaries the message. Dr. Ed also mentioned to the older generation that they should not hinder the growth of the youth but they should do all they can to help them.
The 17th Anniversary was one of the best services so far. We were reminded of the times when our faith was tested and how far we had come.
The celebration ended with a high note;
a gigantic birthday cake,
falling of balloons and also the celebration of
Rev. Kong Hee's 20th year in ministry.
Just wanna say,
"Pastor Kong, Thank YOU!" :)
Thank you for coming. God bless you. (Doesn't this sounds familar? Haha.)
