*Long Awaited Post for CG BBQ.
The CG BBQ was last Thursday but I only posted it now. Got to say sorry about it.
Nonetheless, it was still one of the most Fantasic BBQ we could ever had.
Here's some photos I had taken.
(We are playing the game, Murderer with the poker cards, don't think other wise. Haha!)
As Sister Darryl had said, this had got to be the first time our friends feel so at ease and at home with us. Really have to hand it to
Edward to come out with so many mind challenging games. Haha!
But we really have to thank everyone for helping out one way or another.
Elton,
Chloe and
Roger met early that day to get all the stuff.
Later on,
Roger,
Boon Teck and
Elton also helped a lot with the cooking.
Hong Yun was the waiter serving food that night. Haha!
Yiquan brought the drink container and half the chicken wings.
Carolyn brought the seafood.
And
EVERYONE played the most important part, to make the friends feel SUPER WELCOME! Got to thank
Desmond for coming up with a game to entertain us while waiting. Haha!
Well, another important person to thank is
RUBEZ! We used her place! Haha! And she also helped a lot with the preparation even though she isn't from our CG. Thanks
Rubez!
So do rememeber to invite your friends back! Thanks everyone for making this BBQ a GREAT SUCCESS!

*CrossRoad Junction 10th Sept 2006
We had a zone outreach on 10th Sept 2006. It was an awesome time as we invited many of our friends to join us.
The highlight of the day has to be the CrossRoad Junction where we have to search for the right places to look for the right food!
Gathering a Marina Bay.
That's team B2, going to places such as Lau Pa Sat and China Town.
People's Park Market is also one of our destination.
We took this at Bugis Market.
Finally, we reached Mind Cafe at Princep Street!!! Took lots of photos here, had our free flow of drinks and even played Jenga!
After this, we had a short time of Praise and Worship and Desmond shared his Testimony. It was a GREAT Testimony Des! I think you should post your testimony on the blog too. Haha!
Moving on, we had other games such as Taboo and Jenga Challenge. Not forgetting to take some "Zhi-Lian" photos of ourselves. Haha!
Oh! And Brother Jason is not having a Karaoke session. :P
Enthusiatic players in the game of Taboo.
The heart-pounding Jenga Challenge!!! And some heart-warming "zhi-lian" pictures HuiJing and Carolyn. Haha!
Some pretty sisters and their friends posing for the camera. And... Godzilla?
Good things have to come to an end somehow. Sister Darryl rush down from prison ministry and welcomed all our new friends. We then had dinner together, played at the arcade and made our way home.
Just how much fun we had? Look at how Yiquan slept on the way home! Haha.
So it had being a wonderful day. My friend and I had personally enjoyed the whole event and we are interested with future events.
How about you?

*KL Mission Trip 28 Aug - 01 Sept 2006
Desmond,
Yixuan and I,
Benjamin, are back from
Kuala Lumpur Mission Trip and we have much personal experience and praise report to share!
Thousands of people came to attend the conference each night and everyone was on fire! The last night had so many people that it overflowed!
Here are some photos, arranged in
a. b.
c. d.
***
Day 1: Arrival in Kuala Lumpura: Yixuan sleeping on the coach.
b,c,d: Seneries while on the road.
a, b, c: The hotel we stayed in!
d: Not forgeting to take a group photo once we reach the hotel. Haha!
a: Taking a photo before we begin our work.
b: We had a prayer meeting that last nearly 1 hour during the briefing!
c, d: We were put into teams and assigned ministries. Yixuan was usher, Desmond was bookstore while I was security!
Two tall guys and one not-so-tall girl. Haha!
The three of us with Pastor Zhuang and Pastor Audrey! The lady next to me is Yixuan's friend, Samantha.
Having supper at a nearby cafe. Look at those HUGE mug of fruit juice! It's only RM4.50!
That will end our first day. A lot of things to do (and shopping is part of it. Mega Malaysian Sale!!! Haha!) but we really enjoyed ourselves.
***
Day 2: KL Emerge! Day 1
a, b, c: Photos taken at Sunway Convention Centre, where the night sessions will be held.
d: Team Singapore awaiting for prayer meeting. There's still much to prepare and lots of training (esp. security) to do!
These are taken a few hours before the conference starts. These are the brothers assigned to the security ministry.
a: Martin and I, in our "full gear" (Headsets and black outfit. Haha!).
b: From right - Brother Jimmy's runner, Benjamin Ong. I forgot his name... Martin. Federick.
c: Matthew.
d: Federick and I, he was my partner that night.
Martin and I, ever ready!
a: The crowd just before the conference starts.
b, c: Taking photos while serving. Ops! Haha!
d: That's Chew Ling, another new friend I've made in this trip.
I was posted to patrol outside the auditorium for all 3 nights so I don't get to see the whole conference. However, I took the chance to take a few pictures whenever I could. Haha! (Desmond was also outside because he had to tend to the book store. Haha!)
a: The crowd after the service.
b, c: Things on sale at the bookstore. From Pastor Kong's sermons to Sun's Album!
d: Sun's poster at the bookstore.
There was much training for the rookie security team from Singapore. We were like Militia (if you've played War Craft you will know what I mean.), converting from members to security all of a sudden. Haha!
However, Brother Jimmy was a very good leader. He taught us the basic techniques of communication with the radio, catching people during altar call, how to handle "problematic" visitors, how to escort the offering etc.
I was assigned to escort the offering for all three nights! We had to walk through the crowded shopping mall from Sunway Convention to the hotel room for counting and packing! Thank God it was smooth though a bit stressful. Haha!
With all the responsibilities of protecting the people and especially Pastor Kong, I can now understand how difficult it is to be in the security ministry. I am sure Elton will agree with me. Haha!
Not bad for the first night. It will get better!
***
Day 3: KL Emerge! Day 2
a: Gathering at the lobby to leave for CHC-KL for the day session. Desmond in his new Pink Mickey T-shirt! Haha!
b: Arriving at CHC-KL's building.
c: Desmond: "Itch sia!"
d: Me together with the security team. We're the only ministry that was on duty in the day session. Haha!
The inside of CHC-KL. Nice place and the church is growing!
a: The three of us in the auditorium.
b, c: CHC-KL members streaming in when the doors are open.
d: Pastor Kenneth briefing Team Singapore after the session.
a, b, c: Taking photos with Pastor Kevin Loo, Senior Pastor of CHC-KL!
d: The Jeans Design Competition. Top prize is a pair of jeans from TRUE RELIGION!
I don't have much chance to take pictures on the night session. A lot of things happened that night.
While the security were training for catching, one of the brothers accidentally knocked over Pastor Arie's cup of coffee from Star Bucks! It spilled over Pastor's Ed Hardy's T-shirt (ouch!) and the carpeted flooring right in front of the stage, at where Pastor Kong will be sitting later!
Then while patroling, I saw this strange person lingering around the bookstore. He touched one of the sermon CD and asked if it was Christian. The moment I said, "Yes." He quickly withdrew his hand with lightning quick reflexes, as if he touched something "dirty". He then went into the auditorium and started kissing his necklace, which has a ram pendant! There was also a "Star of Satan" symbol stamped on the back of his shirt!
I quickly radioed the rest of the security and alerted them his appearance and location. The most distinctive feature about him was his white cap with a cape that surrounds it. It looked like one of those military headwear that Japanese soldiers wore during World War Two or like a Samurai Helmet. Thus, we nicknamed him and gave him the call-sign "Samurai". Haha!
The presence of God is so strong that night. Even though I was outside, I can sense the presence of God!
Not surprizingly, the "Samurai" rushed out of the auditorium, coughing very badly. He almost manifested and it was only the praise! Later, he collected himself and went in again. This time, he came rushing out during the worship, coughing non-stop! Pastor Kenneth attended to him and he claimed he was from the Church of Satan and he was commanded to come and debate with the leader of this church! Freaky! But I believed that God is doing a work in his life and there is a reason God allowed him to come to this conference. Amen! God is good!
Other than that, some visitors tried to force their way into the auditorium during the preaching. We do not allow anyone to enter during the sermon as it will disrupt the meeting. Some of them almost turned violent and we were on our toes to react if anything happens.
I also discoverd a mysterious bag outside the corridor where Pastor Kong and the stage crew would be resting! I alerted the rest of the people and upon investigation, found out that the bag contained only blankets (Why in the world were blankets doing there?!!).
With all these commotion going on, I believed this is some form of spiritual attack from the devil. Indeed, God is about to do something great through this conference and the devil is afraid!
Nonetheless, the conference went on smoothly. God is good!
***
Day 4: KL Emerge! Day 3
a: Yixuan's room mate, Xiu Zhen.
b: Posing with our hotel bills. Argh!!!
c, d: Back to CHC-KL for the day session.
a: Brother Gideon guarding the gate. If you know Brother Gideon, he is the man who brought revival in the Indian community in our church! Both he and his wife lead more than one cell groups!
b, c, d: New friends, Jennifer and Chew Ling.
The last session at night was really the best for all three nights! We were worked to our maximum!
This was the overflow area. I was the security guarding the place, usher arranging the chairs and the television, motivators at the overflow area to charge up the atmosphere! Yixuan even went in front to sing like she was in the choir (or backup vocalist!). Haha!
The children church also had a big congregation tonight. Haha!
a, b: This is Yi Ping with a child.
c, d: The games and singing in the children church. Very fun place for the children! Haha!
a, b: Pastor Chee Kiang sharing his testimony, followed by offering.
c, d: It was my turn to stand guard at the room where they count the offering. The security for the previous two nights only stayed for 30 to 40mins. I stayed for nearly 1hour 30mins because of the overflowed attendance! I fought really hard with the "Z-monster". Haha!
The finale!!! Just like in Singapore! Wow!
c, d: The clusters making their last cheer.
a, b: Brothers of the security!
c: The sisters of Team Singapore!
d: Team Singapore with Pastor Kenneth.
The securtiy. We were serious with our work.
Celebrating Sister Suzanna's birthday! Happy Birthday Sister Suzanna! God bless you and Brother Gideon!
a: Brother Robin.
b: Pastor Kenneth.
c: Euphrasia and Chew Ling with Pastor Kenneth.
d: We ambushed Brother Jimmy in the elevator. Haha!
Team Singapore together with PASTOR KONG!!!

Day 5: Leaving Kuala Lumpur
It had really being a great trip. Everyone experienced the presence of God even though we were all busy serving. Indeed, it was not just for fun or for anything that we went for mission trip. We could have enjoyed ourselves and spent lesser if we had travelled on our own but it was the love of God and for the vision of Pastor Kong that we went on this trip.
As Desmond said, we grow to love Pastor Kong more through this trip. I personally see the magnitude of our influence and how hard Pastor is working and his spirit of excellence in this trip.
Being in this trip, we get to be up close and personal with many of the leaders and they shared with us their experiences and their love for and struggles together with Pastor Kong and Sun. God had indeed brought the three of us into a deeper understanding of the leaders.
I pray that all of you will go for mission trips. Don't just pray about it but really save up now and start planning. Faith without works is dead. God moves the moment we move and He always works together with us. God loves you and nothing you asked he will not deliver.
This is a verse that the Lord spoke to me in this trip, which had greatly encouraged me.
Dan 9:23a
"The moment you began praying, a command was given. And now I am here to tell you what it was, for you are very precious to God..."
I had being waiting, praying and planning so long for a trip like this. Even though I didn't get to sit in to hear the sermon, God spoke to me and made me felt His presence throughout the trip. In His own way, God had ministered to us.
Here's a photo of our other "harvest".
Eat your hearts out! Haha!
Thanks for praying for us! Your prayers and our prayers for you while we are in KL had sustained us. God had really being good to us in this trip. Praise the Lord!

*Missionary W372!!!
Before I go, I gotta update this blog. You should see some changes made to the side bar now.
W372 is a WONDERFUL CG. I realise that as I move on in life, my "best" friends keep changing. I mix around with different group of people at different periods of time. I am glad to say that the quality of my friends and friendship keep improving, know what I mean? Haha.
Serving the Lord together with all you is fun and fruitful. I foresee that many more will be added on to us and multiplication is already visibly on the way!
Although we lament about the people who have left us, the people who is with us currently have gotten stronger and is growing in the Lord and it can be evident in the last CG meeting and the openess of the friends we invited for Sunday's outings.
Meanwhile, please remember to pray for one another and not let the words of what other people may say about us to affect us. At the same time, let us not say anything to others/outsiders that may expose our members to scrutiny.
Remember about what Pastor Kong taught on Saturday, protect each other and love one another. Let not other people have the chance to talk bad about us but let us be the light and salt to the earth!
(That is so to say if there is anyone of you who is sharing too much things with and sharing things you shouldn't be sharing with someone, be it about yourself or the CG, you have to seriously review your "friendship" with that person, especially if that person is not a CG member.)
Let's go to less "serious" topics now.
Desmond,
Yixuan and I,
Benjamin will be going over to
KL to help with their
Emerge Conference!
Carolyn will be flying to
India to do community work!
Please ALWAYS keep us in prayer as it is important to us. When we are back, we will share with you all the AWESOME stories about our trip.
Everyone in W372 is important. You are our power base where spiritual support will come from.
So I say again, remember to PRAY for us! May God bless us with journey mercy and a FANTASIC time in our trip!
Gen 11:6"Indeed the people are one... now nothing they proposed to do will be withheld from them." Amen!
When I am back, I will post the
photos taken during the outing. We really had a WONDERFUL outing on Sunday. Haha.

*"DR. BERNARD! WE WANT YOU BACK!!!"
The conference with
Dr. A.R. Bernard was over but I believe many lives had being impacted and thousands of people will never be the same again!
Yes! Dr. Bernard is such a great motivator! His mission this time round was to
EDUCATE us, to
ENCOURAGE us and to
EMPOWER us and he accomplished it with great excellence!
Every word that flows out of Dr. Bernard's mouth is wisdom, every sentence is a main point. You just don't know what to take note! I scribbled like a mad man every service and filled up five to six pages of notes each day!
Dr. Bernard was focusing on the topic of "
Kristos Kai Kosmos", which is literally translated as
Christ in Culture, meaning that we as the church must be relevant to the society and represent Christ in modern culture.
If you have missed what he taught throughout this three days, here is the conclusive point that he made on the last day.
INFORMATION enters your MIND and the mind turns it into a BELIEF which affects your SELF-ESTEEM, producing ACTIONS that brings about a RESULT that forms a HABIT and determine your SUCCESS OR FAILURE.So in order to change the situation you are in today, you will have to go back to the root of the problem, which is the INFORMATION. You must receive
NEW INFORMATIONS and perceive it with a
RENEWED MIND in order to change your FAILURES into SUCCESS!
So what about the rest of the pointers?
Can't expect me to pen down 3 days worth of sermons (or 16 pages long notes) here on the blog isn't it?
Anyway, if you are really hungry for the word, go
BUY THE CDs! A good teaching is worth listening again and again. What's more, Dr. Bernard's preaching is not just good, it is
EXCELLENT!!!
Here are some photos we took during the conference.
These are taken on the first evening.
2nd evening. Yixuan looked very formal tonight. Haha!
That's me posing with you.
Chloe making face.
We are a very PHOTOGENIC CG!
A special gallery for Yixuan. Haha.
We also celebrated Pastor Kong's Birthday on Sunday! His birthday is this Wednesday on the 23rd of August (am I right? Haha!). So...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY PASTOR KONG!!!
So to sum up our feelings with words...
"DR. BERNARD! WE WANT YOU BACK!!!" Haha!

*A Word of Thanks From This Blog!
Really wanna thank everyone who helped to kept this blog alive!I am refering to the
Taggers of course! Haha.
Our
Top Tagger will happen to be
Cordy! aka
Yixuan! It is interesting to know that someone will tag here every other day (save for the days she isn't working, haha!). So you are officially "
Champion Tagger" from today on. Haha.
Doesn't matter what you wanna say in here (save for vulgarities and unconstructive criticizims, which I believe you all will not do it), the flooding of the tag board had really turned it into what I had intended to be, "
A FELLOWSHIP BOARD"! Haha.
So who else had tagged?
The
Enigmatic Tagger,
Boon Teck, who always appear with some strange nick. (Currently he is known as
Genius.)
The
Watchers like
Minqi and
Huiyi who will make their presence known.
The
Man of Smiles,
Roger, who always leaves his laughter behind.
Our
Newcomer,
Cawo aka
Carolyn who quickly contributed the moment she joined us!
Our
Missionaries,
Mei Hui and
Elton, because they don't have internet access at home, they will have to go around to access it and will still come here to fellowship!
Our other
Administrator,
Desmond, who though so busy will never give reading this blog and the tags a miss.
Also our
Encourager,
Hong Yun, who well... always encourage others on the taggy, of course. Haha.
Not forgetting
Chloe, and a few others who had also left their mark behind.
Thanks for tagging people! Keep it up!
P.S. Many of us are having our exams now/soon. Please keep praying for all of us. Let us shine for Christ in our studies!

*Marriage Seminar Continues.
After a couple of exciting week, we are back with our
Marriage Seminar again.
Pastor was preaching about the roles of the wife and the husband this week. As a youth, you probably will catch this point, "Man are the ones who should initiates", you know what I mean? Haha.
A marriage seminar may sounds like it is meant for couples who are either planning to get married or already married. Some may even think that it is more relevant for couples whose marriages are on the rocks.
Now as you think about it, if this seminar is only meant for married couples, then the only ones who will attend are probably having healthy marriages. Couples who are on the verge on breaking up (meaning those who SHOULD really attend this seminar) will not even bother to attend.
Since most of us will get married one day (save for those with special reasons), why not learn it while we are still young? This seminar also teaches about the appropriate behaviour of being a man or a woman and clarify certain sexist concepts that was misquoted in the bible.
So ladies out there, don't let man bully you, ya?
One of my friend attended all four lessons, two of which she attended unintentionally because she was accompanying memebers for makeup. She said she has decided to attend all the rest of the lesson as she finds it relevant and interesting despite not having the intention to marry so soon.
Some things are good to learn while you are still young, while you still have time to become a better man or woman.
So even though we are a CG of youth and young adults, do take time off for the next couple of months and attend every lessons. It is going to benefit you greatly.
So what's next?
Dr. A.R. Bernard is coming back to town! I have attended a couple of his meetings in the past and the last one was three years ago! He is a great teacher and he can tuly inspires people through his teachings.
The last time round he taught about having excellence, many people in church readily took up part-time diplomas and degrees to continue that studies that they always wanted to pursue.
Unless you can really inspires, how could you make so many people decide to go back to school again after so many years in the work force? When the fact reigns that many youngsters who are schooling don't even want to go to school! Haha.
Dr. Bernard is very much involve in high level talks and meetings in Washington D.C. With much things happening around the world and the involvement of U.S. in most of the matters, Dr. Bernard had cancelled his trips here over the past few years.
Finally he is coming back. If you MISS this meeting, you never know when he is coming again. Haha.
